A huge thank you to the Carriers Arms for raising over £20,000 for Sobell House

22nd August 2019
The Carriers Arms in Watlington, has been supporting Sobell House since 2015 with various fundraising initiatives, including meat raffles, collecting tins on the bar, sponsored challenges and fab events. We’re thrilled to announce that their latest efforts have tipped them over the £20,000 mark, and that in total the pub has raised an incredible £20,208.57 in memory of Gordon House in the past four and a half years.

Gordon was looked after at Sobell House in December 2015, and as the village postman, was well known by the local community, as well as a frequent patron of the pub.

Our thanks to Gordon’s family, Landlady Tarina Croxford, all of the staff and customers at the Carriers Arms for their generosity. We’d also like to extend our thanks to the Watlington branch of the Calnan Brothers, the butchers who in addition to having a collecting tin for Sobell House, have supplied the meat for the raffles.
