How we can help
From the moment someone is told the devastating news they have an incurable illness until the end of their life, we are here to support them. Our care also extends to family and friends, who face the life-changing loss of a loved one.
Our expert team of staff and volunteers work closely with patients and their families to provide compassionate care that is tailored to people’s individual needs. We aim to improve people’s quality of life by making them as comfortable as possible, relieving their pain and symptoms, listening to their wishes, and treating them with dignity and respect.
Our services support our patient’s medical care as well as their social, emotional, practical and spiritual needs. For example, we offer social work and chaplaincy support, music and art therapy sessions, onsite catering, a transport service, a companion service and more.
We know that the earlier our involvement with someone’s care happens, the more chance there is for us to help them live as well as they can for as long as they can.
Our services are available free of charge to adults who have a life-limiting illness. We care for patients from the age of 18 on our inpatient unit, through our Living Well day service, in the local hospitals, and to people at home.
All the staff at Sobell House are such amazing, kind and caring people. It’s a hard journey in life but they make it easier by being there with you.
