A special Sobell poem

Read touching poems written by students at Didcot Girls’ School about the care Sobell House provides.
We were touched to read poems written by students at Didcot Girls’ School about the care Sobell House provides. A big thank you to Robin, Niamh, Erin, Tegan, and Carys for taking the time to write such lovely words.
Robin:
What would happen if you fell ill?
Without a hope or curing pill.
What if you kept fighting hard?
But treatment makes you feel marred.
What if you knew that you couldn’t go on?
But how to tell your daughter and your son.
How to find that end of life care?
Sobell House is always there!
Niamh:
In Oxford town, where hearts unite,
Sobell House shines, a guiding light.
With compassion strong and spirits bright,
They bring comfort and solace, day and night.
Erin:
Doors open wide,
A smile on every face.
To help you be cared for,
To help you feel grace.
Tegan:
Through gentle hands and caring embrace,
They offer love in every place.
A haven of warmth, a healing space,
Sobell House brings hope, at life’s own pace.
Carys:
So let’s join hands, let’s lend our aid,
Support Sobell House, their mission never fades.
Together we can make a difference, it’s true,
In the lives they touch, and in our hearts too.
The yellow and blue will help people take flight,
And guide them to that final light.
Didcot Girls’ School have been busy fundraising for Sobell House this year and we’re so grateful for their fantastic support.
