Chaplaincy support

We have chaplaincy support available for patients, and their family and friends, who need spiritual or emotional support.

Our chaplaincy service is open to people of all faiths and none. Our chaplains are skilled at talking about death, dying and bereavement and can help people think about their life story, their legacy and their funeral. They can also help contact your faith community, to ensure you have the correct faith, spiritual, and cultural support in place.

Contact the chaplain’s office: jonathan.williams3@ouh.nhs.uk or 01865 857921.

The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is at the heart of our hospice, where patients and their loved ones can spend time and take a quiet moment to reflect or pray.

It’s a bright and welcoming space and has been a lovely backdrop for many wedding days held at the hospice. Families also use the space to visit on the anniversary of their loved one’s death.

Prayer books, candles, and prayer mats are available for visitors, along with materials to help people understand and cope with grief.
