OxTrail 2024

Join us next summer for an art trail unlike anything Oxfordshire has seen before…

You are here: Home / OxTrail

OxTrail is ‘herding’ your way…

Next summer, you will have the chance to take part in Oxford’s first ever sculpture trail, where life-sized and mini herds of oxen will be grazing throughout the county!

OxTrail is a celebration of the culture, places, and people that makes Oxfordshire special. Each bold and beautiful sculpture will be designed by an artist, school, or youth group to help make the herd truly unique.

Following the eight-week trail, the life-sized oxen will go under the hammer at a spectacular auction. All of the funds raised will help to support the work of Sobell House, a cause close to the hearts of many people in Oxfordshire.

We can’t wait to bring you on this ox-traordinary adventure with us!

Become a sponsor

OxTrail will be Oxfordshire’s must-see event of summer 2024, but we need the support from local businesses to help make it happen! Find out how your company can get involved by becoming a supporting partner, or by sponsoring one of the unique ox sculptures.

By supporting OxTrail, your business will be affiliated with a much-loved charity, raise its profile, and make an ox-citing and positive impact in your local community.

Call for artists

OxTrail is a wonderful opportunity for artists to showcase their talents. Our iconic ox sculpture is synonymous with our city and, with the breadth of history, culture, and sights Oxford has to offer, there is inspiration for designs wherever you look.

We’re looking for both established and emerging artists to design our herd and there is no restriction on the type of design you submit as we are accepting all artistic disciplines.

Call for schools

The Learning Programme is a fantastic opportunity for schools and youth groups across the county to create their own mini ox sculpture and join the moo-vement!

We would love every primary and secondary school across the county, both state and private, to fundraise for their local hospice and engage with a unique and fun community project by creating their own mini ox.
