We will do our best to make your volunteer experience enjoyable and rewarding. We aim to be flexible and supportive. We believe that the volunteer relationship is built on trust and mutual understanding.

As a volunteer with Sobell House Hospice Charity we ask that you agree to:

1. Maintain confidentiality both during the volunteering and after the completion of any period of volunteering. Confidential information includes any information (whether in writing, oral, visual or in electronic form) relating to any matters of a confidential nature relating to the Charity, customers, visitors or members of staff. You must not divulge, either directly or indirectly, any confidential information except as authorised or required by law

2. Comply at all times with the Charity's best practices, policies and procedures, including Health and Safety Procedure

3. Comply with our mandatory training programme and any additional trainings that deemed necessary by your manager

4. Meet agreed time commitments and give reasonable notice when you're not available so that arrangements can be made

5. Never expect or generally accept gifts or hospitality as a reward for your volunteering (either for doing or not doing something) or for showing advantage to someone or some other organisation

6. Be accountable for your actions and perform your volunteering role with respect and to the best of your ability aligned with the Charity's vision and values

You can expect us to provide you with:

1. A safe, respectful, fair and non-discriminatory volunteering environment

2. A clear explanation of what your role involves, what is expected of you and who you need to speak to if you need support

3. Opportunity to regularly discuss your volunteering and any successes or problems

4. Reimbursement of your out-of-pocket expenses

5. The ability to stop volunteering with us without pressure or judgement

No liability can be accepted for loss or damage to personal property on Charity premises owned by the Charity and you are advised to provide your own insurance.

This agreement is in honour only. It is not intended to be a legally binding contract and either Sobell House Hospice Charity or the volunteer can end the agreement at any time.
