Remembering with Sobell House

Our annual remembrance event, Lights of Love, is held at the beginning of December and gives you the opportunity to remember loved ones by dedicating a light on our tree of remembrance.

Create an online fundraising page

Creating a fundraising page with Just Giving provides you with an online space where you, your friends and family can share photos and memories as well as a place where you can support the hospice by making donations.

How to set up a fundraising page with Just Giving

Giving in memory at a funeral or memorial service
Many families choose to limit funeral flowers to immediate family and invite other family and friends to make a donation to Sobell House instead.

We can provide you with Donation Envelopes if you’d like to do this. Donation Envelopes can be posted directly to you, or to the Funeral Director, so they are ready for the memorial service. Alternatively, they can be collected from the fundraising office at Sobell House.

To order Donation Envelopes please email [email protected] or phone 01865 857007 and let us know the following information:

  • How many envelopes you need
  • The date of the service
  • The name and address to send the envelopes to
  • The name of the person the collection is in memory of
  • Contact details for acknowledgements

Cheques (made payable to Sobell House Hospice Charity) or cash can be put in the envelopes and, where appropriate, the Gift Aid section completed to enable us to claim 25p for every £1 that people donate at no extra cost.

Funeral directors are willing to collect donations in lieu of flowers, handling the administration of these gifts for you and then forwarding them on to us. It can take between 8-12 weeks before the funeral donations reach us.

Take on a fundraising challenge

Taking part in a challenge event or organising your own fundraising event is a wonderful tribute and a really special way to remember someone special to you.
